Experience : 20+ years Work remotely (projects) : Yes Work onsite (missions) : No Description : I have been voicing since I joined the BBC and have many years experience as a voiceover. I have worked as a BBC World Service newsreader, television announcer and radio documentary author/presenter. I am very experienced at working to picture (I used to do the evening trails on BBC1 when they were voiced live). Voice range is 30s – 70s; adult male, essentially RP but I tone it down for oil company safety videos, for example. I will voice anything ethical, though I tend to specialise in medical, scientific and technical work. I have a good grasp of scientific pronunciation including medical Latin, and can spot mistranslations or improbable meanings in translated technical texts. I have a lot of stamina and a good sense of humour in the studio, get on well with most people and enjoy making things work well. I work mainly from the Voice Station, a very good audio production studio in Sussex, but I also voice in London.

As a guide, the basic session rate is generally €300 per hour including the voice, the studio and an operator. Minimum booking is half an hour. Editing is charged at €60 per hour including the studio and an operator. Usage fees may apply for broadcast projects. In an hour you will record between ten and thirty minutes of finished audio, largely depending on the nature of the script.
